Adding audio books to your Motorola MOTOKRZR

You will need a PC running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows VISTA. The sync is accomplished using Windows Media Player which comes with either operating system (other media players may work, but I have not tested them).

Instructions:

The following instructions assume using a Motorola MOTOKRZR.

1. Follow directions on downloading an audiobook from AudioSeaStories, or any audio file (elsewhere in ”Tutorials”) onto your PC. Choose Windows Media Player to download to.
2. Open the Windows Media Player program. (Start→Programs→Windows Media Player).
3. Click “Sync” on the Windows Media Player tool bar.

4. This opens a window on the right hand side of the screen.

5. Make sure that you have previously installed the software driver for your phone onto your PC.
6. Plug your MP3 capable phone (it’s best to install a memory card into your phone if it supports one. This will allow the largest capacity for audio files) into an available USB port on your PC using your data cable.
7. Turn the phone on and go to the phone’s menu.
8. Find where your phone stores music files. On the MOTOKRZR it is in “Get it Now”.
9. Choose “Music and Tones”.
10. Choose “My Music”.
11. Choose “Sync” from the phone screen to mount the phone onto Windows Media Player.
12. Back on Windows Media Player, highlight the audio file you want to sync to your phone, then drag the highlighted file to the right hand window where it says “Drag items here to create a list to sync”.

13. Now click on the “Start Sync” button at the bottom of that window.
14. When the sync is finished, disconnect your phone and shut down Windows Media Player.
15. You can find your audiobook on your phone following steps 7 – 10 and play it back on the phone’s built in speaker, headphones, or on a home stereo or car radio equipped with an MP3 input (many new cars have this feature). You can also use Bluetooth if the phone and car support this technology. There are also car kits that allow you to input via radio signal.

Good luck on your downloading adventure!
