What's the difference between an MP3 CD and an audio CD?
The average CD can hold up to 80 minutes of audio or 700 MB of data, depending on the format in which the CD is burned.
When a CD is burned in “audio” format, it is just like the type of CD that you would buy in the music store. If you order your audiobook in audio CD format, you will receive a set of discs that can be played in your home CD player or played in your computer CD drive.
When a CD is burned in “MP3” format, it can only be played in an MP3-compatible CD player, or in your computer's CD drive. The advantage of an MP3-formatted CD is that rather than limit the CD by the minutes of audio, it limits by the amount of data, so you can fit several hours of audio onto an MP3-formatted disc.
When deciding which format to purchase, keep in mind how you will primarily be listening to your audiobook. If you wish to listen to your audiobook using a standard CD player, you will likely want to purchase an audio CD set. If you wish to listen to your audiobook on an MP3-compatible player, or load it onto your computer or MP3 player, the MP3 disc is a better option.
Why do I need to choose between a Mac download and a PC download?
When you order a download, the file that you download is a compressed file, which is made up of all of the files for your audiobook. Mac and PC each have their own unique software that is used to open compressed files.

How can I listen to the stories and songs on my MP3 player with others?
There are two easy ways to listen to your MP3 player "out loud" - with an FM transmitter that broadcasts your MP3 player's sound through a radio, or with portable speakers. Both of these options allow you to listen to your MP3 player just about anywhere imaginable - even in the middle of the ocean!
How can I listen to my audiobook through my radio?
If you own an iPod, you can purchase an FM transmitter that connects to your iPod. With the transmitter, you set your iPod to transmit to a "dead" station (one that doesn't have a radio station broadcasting on it in your area). Then, simply tune your radio to that station setting, and you'll hear whatever is playing on your iPod! This is a great way to listen to audiobooks when you're on a long car trip or - better yet - on a leisurely excursion aboard your sailboat. You can find a variety of FM transmitters in our
iPod Store.
Where can I find portable speakers?
Another way you can listen to your MP3 player on-the-go is with portable speakers. These allow you the freedom to listen anywhere, even when no radio is available. A full selection of portable speakers can be found at our
iPod Store.
